E-Books/Digital Textbooks for Your Classes
You also have the option of providing e-book/digital versions of your textbooks for content that is available in this format. Digital textbooks allow students to easily read the content on their own computer or tablet, or even access the content through a website. Students can print out pages and take notes. Instead of purchasing the textbook, students purchase an access code or license key.
To find out if the textbooks you’ve assigned are available digitally, please contact John Bender at 970-204-8160 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
Disposal of Instructor Copies of Textbooks… We Can Help
Complimentary textbooks provided by publishers at no cost to FRCC employees should not be sold and may only be donated with permission from the college’s fiscal office. Front Range Community College considers complimentary copies of textbooks as college property. Outdated versions can be disposed of by submitting them to the campus store for inclusion with obsolete titles that are periodically given to a book recycler. Or, if the holder of a complimentary text book would like to donate the book to a charitable organization, the holder should first contact the college’s property officer in the fiscal department for assistance.
When preparing course packets and study guides, please remember that permission is required for each use of content from sources such as books, cartoons, Internet, journals, magazines, and newspapers. Keep in mind that the permission process can take up to six weeks.
